Buying a home can be an overwhelming process. From financing to offer submittal to negotiating, inspection, to closing…there are a lot of moving pieces that can leave home buyer frustrated…if not handled properly. As your realtor, I can guide you through each step of the buying process, offering sound advice along the way. By working with a realtor who knows the ins and outs of the real estate buying process, you’ll not only end up with a great home, but you’ll also walk away with a great feeling.

GETTING PRE-APPROVED:

First step in buying a home is to know what you can afford.  Getting a pre-approval by a reputable lender should be your first step. The lender will go over financing options, what monthly payment amounts you can afford and what you can expect for down payment requirements and closing costs.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT HOUSE:

Searching for the right property should be a pleasant experience; it’s an exciting time, especially for the first-time buyers.

As your realtor, we’ll talk and define your wants; location, price range, number of bedrooms, baths, style, etc.

We’ll schedule showings of homes so that you will have a first-hand look and be able to better define what you like and don’t like.

Once the right home is identified, we’ll then write and submit an ‘offer to purchase’.

MAKING AN OFFER:

Once you’ve found the home of your dreams, as your realtor, I will research recent comparable sales of similar homes in the area to help determine a fair selling price. Once the offer is submitted, I will assist in negotiating the best deal.

INSPECTION:

Once an offer is accepted by the seller, the next step is the inspection which would be done by a licensed inspector. This inspection is intended to point out any deficiencies in the house such as structural concerns or problems with heating system, roof, appliances, plumbing, electrical, etc.

Any significant issues should be addressed prior to proceeding with the purchase.

CLOSING:

Once the Purchase and Sale Agreement is signed, with the assistance of a real estate attorney, we’ll head towards the closing.

A number of things will happen prior to closing, including the appraisal, title search, etc that will be handled through your lender.

As your realtor, I will work towards making the closing process a smooth and pleasant experience.
